Undy Sunday: October 2020

Did you know that new underwear and socks are the most-requested, but least-donated items at Catholic Charities? These basic items (new underwear, warm socks, a fresh diaper) are truly treasures to those who are living in poverty.

Christ the King CCW is supporting Catholic Charities, Diocese of Joliet and the individuals and families they serve by providing new underwear, undershirts, socks, diapers, and other basic need items for children and adults living in low-income households throughout the month of October. This year, due to COVID-19, Catholic Charities is requesting donations in either of the two following ways:

1. Undy Sunday Amazon Wish List – Choose from a list of most-needed items and your donation will be sent directly to Catholic Charities to help those in need.

2. Monetary Donations to support Undy Sunday – Donations made to Undy Sunday will be used to purchase the items needed by Catholic Charities’ clients.

Please visit to make a donation or view the Amazon Wish List.

If you’d prefer to send a check directly to Catholic Charities, please mail it to:

Thank you for making a difference in the lives of the poor and vulnerable in our community, particularly during this difficult time.

About The Council of Catholic Women:  Christ the King Parish Council is part of the National Council of Catholic Women - a federation that was established at the request of the U.S. Bishops in 1921.  CCW has a long history of service to the Church in America and has a membership of millions of Catholic women across the country, in over 7,000 Catholic women’s organizations.  Our Council is part to the Joliet Diocesan Council.

Mission Statement:  The goal of CCW is to provide spiritual and educational growth for the women of the parish and also to provide social and service opportunities for its members to use their talents to nurture one another and benefit the community.

Meetings are held on the 3rd Monday of the month, September thru May.  In addition to a variety of programs, we support several projects throughout the year.  Please watch this space or the Bulletin for information about meetings, programs and activities.

Membership:  All of the women in the parish are members automatically.  An optional donation of $10 is appreciated to help support our fundraising efforts.

Benefits:  You will make friends, learn something new, have fun, feel more connected with the parish and have an opportunity to make a difference.
