From the Pastor's Desk - 4/28/2024

      Please pray for our 8th grade RE students, as they will be getting confirmed this Thursday evening here in our church by Bishop Hicks. We will also be joined by the 8th grade RE students from Holy Ghost in Wood Dale. Normally we are also joined with Ascension in Oak Brook Terrace; however they do not have any students this year in 8th grade. I think we can all remember and appreciate when we made our Confirmation. It was a special time as we looked into the gifts of the Holy Spirit, our patron Saint, and the blessings of our Catholic faith. I pray that we will always remember the presence of the holy spirit in our life. May we also always draw strength from the saint that we chose for Confirmation. 

     Wednesday is May 1st, and so begins a month dedicated to the Blessed Mother. May we remember her as our helper and our guide; especially for our families. I pray that she will give you good guidance in your life.

     Next weekend is First Communion weekend here at Christ the King. We let the families choose which mass they would like to attend with their child on their special day. Most children and their families will be at the 10:00 mass next Sunday. Please plan accordingly with your personal schedule. Let us pray that the first communion of our 2nd graders is only the beginning of many, many times they will receive Jesus and that they will develop a personal relationship with Him.
