From the Pastor's Desk...

It seems that taking time to wait is pretty much a part of our Catholic faith. We just finished waiting during Advent; and then Christmas came. Now, we wait for the 2nd coming of Christ. Soon, we will be waiting for Easter with the holy season of Lent. We wait again. We may be waiting for an answer to a prayer. God has been with his people at different points in history, and we can see in scripture where waiting is nothing new!

As we begin this new year of 2026, we find ourselves waiting again for something—whether or not our 2 parishes will merge. We are waiting for the Vatican to give a decision. While we wait, it is important to remember that Jesus is present with us in Spirit and in the Eucharist. Jesus is already here for us to give us hope, encouragement, and peace. At this time of waiting, soon to be in our 8th month, we can take solace in the fact Jesus loves us and is present. He doesn’t go anywhere.

We have surely been in January weather; cold and snow! This time of year perhaps encourages us to slow down and wait. Jesus waits for us in different ways, at different times. May we always be attentive to his divine presence.

 Peace……..Fr. Jeff
