From the Pastor's Desk...
Our last weekend in June. The 4th of July is next weekend. Summertime is here and it’s moving along. Often times we can connect what is happening in nature with the presence of God. I pray that you will be able to enjoy this time of year. We are more free to get outdoors and see what’s going on. The world is green, growing and alive. We can experience God in the nature that surrounds us. May you come to know God in a deeper way this summertime.
At the end of July, I will be down in southern Indiana at St. Meinrad for my 40th college seminary reunion, along with other classes that have milestones. I guess you can say that going down to St. Meinrad is my summer trip. It’s always so nice down there; a very rural area. First thing you notice when it gets dark outside, is the STARS! Lots and lots of stars that we just don’t quite get to see living in the suburbs of Chicago with all the night time lights turned on. It is always interesting to see the changes at St. Meinrad, and the changes that all of us guys have gone through whenever we are together. With my yearly stay at St. Meinrad for my retreat, I see the changes on campus come little by little. But when we get together as classmates, we see the changes in each other. God has blessed so many of us with our priesthood.
Wherever you end up this summer, may you arrive safely and make good memories—and hopefully seeing God at work in new ways.
Peace……..Fr. Jeff
