From the Pastor's Desk - 10/26/2025

    Christmas is now 2 months away! A couple of special days take place in December that you may want to attend. On Saturday, December 13, we will be celebrating Our Lady of Guadalupe. This event is put together by our Filipino Community. Mass with songs of praise and worship will begin at 10:00 am. There will be a time for social afterwards. Then, the next day, on Sunday, December 14, we will begin the 9-day novena before Christmas, Simbang Gabi. Again, this is a special novena put together by the Filipino Community. This is a novena taking place at different parishes in our area leading up to Christmas. Mass will take place at 4:00 in the afternoon with social gathering afterwards. Everyone is invited to both of these events. Both events will be held at Christ the King Church in Lombard.

     Fr. Bill Dewan, Rector of our cathedral in Joliet, will be having a Mass of Thanksgiving on Saturday, November 8, at St. Carlo Acutis Parish (formerly St. Ambrose) in Crest Hill. Mass takes place at 10:00 am. This is a special mass to kick off a new ministry in our diocese for the Black Catholic Community. All are invited for a mass celebrating the rich diversity of Black and African-American Catholics within the Diocese of Joliet. It is hoped to begin to establish a Black Catholic data base for our diocese.

     Remember, November 1 & 2 weekend, we celebrate All Souls. Please bring a picture of a loved one to be placed at the altar. This is at both locations.
