From the Pastor's Desk...
Jesus Christ has risen from the dead! Every time we celebrate mass, we think of Easter joy! Because Jesus rose from the dead, we all have hope. We are loved by God, and there is a place prepared for us. This weekend we begin the month of November with 2 very special days on the church calendar. All Saints and All Souls. We remember in a special way, those who have gone before us. Our faith tells us that our souls go home to the Lord.
The saints give us hope and inspiration. They are the heroes of our Christian faith. We can see how they lived their life; and compare it to our own. I encourage you to look at the saint you chose for Confirmation. Why did you choose that saint? Have you kept up a connection with that saint?
All our loved ones that have gone home to the Lord; we remember them too, in a most special and important way on All Souls Day. We remember the gift they were to us. We may want to reflect on who they were, and what our relationship was with them. We give thanks to God for the blessings that He has given to our loved ones. They are signs to us of God’s goodness and our fellowship with the saints in Christ. I encourage you to pray for the deceased, and to pray to the deceased.
Let us also remember that our loved ones who are no longer with us have their work complete here on earth. We are still here. We are called to build up the Kingdom of God by love and forgiveness.
Peace…..Fr. Jeff
