From the Pastor's Desk...
Today and next weekend we conclude our Easter Celebration. This weekend is the Ascension of the Lord—and next weekend we celebrate Pentecost. I hope that these 50 days of Easter have been going well for you as you reflect on the risen Christ; the hope, healing, and grace that comes with that. We are so blessed to have our faith, as it is a powerful foundation for all that we do in our daily life. May you always be aware of the presence of Jesus who ascended into heaven, and has sent the Holy Spirit to be with us.
June 2, 1990, I was ordained a priest by Bishop Imesch at our great cathedral in Joliet. And so, with an anniversary of 35 years, I have been reflecting, and going down “Memory Lane”. A lot has taken place in that time; and it is all good. The time has gone by quickly. I think of all the wonderful people in different places who have been part of my priestly life. Wow! What a blessing that has been given to me. I thank God for my family, my friends, my parishioners; and all who have been part of “doing church” since I started seminary in 1984.
We are all called to share our gifts; to share who we are with one another. As I celebrate my anniversary and look at the tools God has given me, I hope that you will look at the tools you have, given by God, to be used to build up His kingdom. Thank you for sharing your life with me.
Peace……..Fr. Jeff
