From the Pastor's Desk - 7/27/2025

    This weekend we are remembering St. Anne and St. Joachim. Saturday, July 26, is the day the church remembers the parents of Mary; and the grandparents of Jesus! Imagine what that “Holy Family” must’ve been like for Jesus? This day reminds us that Jesus had a family—he was part of a family just as you and I. How might we look to St. Anne and St. Joachim in our own vocation and role in the family that we are part of? Certainly, St. Anne is a good example for us, and a wonderful saint to turn to, especially when seeking guidance within our own family.

     Thank you for your generosity in this year’s Catholic Ministries Annual Appeal. Our parish of Christ the King had a goal of $58,600. We made our goal, as you have paid $72,670 of the $81,586 that is pledged! The Annual Appeal allows each of us to participate actively in the different ministries that affect so many people here in our diocese. Financial or prayerful—both are important.

     Last week’s gospel of Martha and Mary remind us to always be attentive and to listen to the Lord. He is near, and is always there to give us healing and hope in our life.
