From the Pastor's Desk...
Here we are; the first weekend in August! Our summer is moving along. I remember years ago, we always had our family reunion out in Aurora the first Sunday in August. We had it at several locations through the years, but that is all over now. When the last of the “great aunts” died at the age of 98, the reunion came to an end. We started the family reunion, however, over 50 years ago when I was in high school. A reminder, that the passage of time is very real.
I hope that you spend your time well. Time, they say, is the stuff that life is made of. Our life on earth while we are living is very important. I hope that you have used this summer time well in deepening your relationship with God. There is so much outdoors that we can see and experience. When the weather turns cold and dark, we are not in tune with so much—we tend to stay inside where we are in a more controlled space.
Enjoy the remainder of summer. In August the colleges start up, and then the grade schools and high schools. Labor Day is only a month away—and New Years Eve is only 4 months away! Use your time well. Know that God is with you in all that you do. Bring Him into your experience.
Peace……..Fr. Jeff
