From the Pastor's Desk...
This coming Fridy, August 15, is The Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Mary, who was conceived without sin, “falls asleep” and is taken up into heaven—body and soul. We see this unique person, Mary, the Mother of God, as someone who is human, yet she carried the author of all life. Mary’s assumption reminds us that you and I will one day follow her to that place that is prepared for us; the Kingdom of Heaven. We may think of our own life, and our own death. How do we live our life in such a way, that we will one day be home with the Lord? Mary gives us hope. Mary gives us encouragement. Between our 2 parishes the mass schedule is as follows: 8:30, 12:15 and 6:00 at Lombard. Mass is at noon in Oakbrook Terrace. Anyone from both parishes may attend any of the 4 masses offered.
Thank you for your participation during these summer months. I know it is difficult with all the summer activities, and yet I am so pleased to see so many of you at mass during this summertime. We are also reminded that schools will be starting very soon, starting with our college and high school students. May God watch over all our children, let them learn well, and may they be kept safe.
Peace……Fr. Jeff
