From the Pastor's Desk...

Evangelization. That was the topic of our convocation this past week with my brother priests as we gathered for prayer and fellowship. As time goes by, I will be sharing what was discussed.

Perhaps the root of evangelization is our personal relationship with Christ. We might be good at “doing” religion, but do we really “know” Jesus? In our relationship with Jesus, we come to a deeper and more full understanding of what the church teaches. Some things might fall into routine such as attending mass and receiving communion. Jesus calls us to a holy understanding of what it is we are doing; what we are consuming? I sincerely pray that you will intentionally look at your relationship with Christ. This personal relationship will help you in all that you do, especially in matters concerning the Church. Jesus is with you. He does not go anywhere. Think of where the Holy Spirit has been in your life, and look where that Spirit has led you and guided you. As our world and church changes and goes through difficult times, the personal, intentional relationship you have with Christ will sustain you. There have always been dark times in the world, and God guides people through it all. Trusting in God takes a good prayerful attitude. He is always present.

Monday, the 22nd, Fr. Bob Coleman celebrates a birthday. Fr. Bob has been a wonderful priest in so many ways. Fr. Bob came to my home parish, St. Anne’s in Oswego, when he was first ordained! He is a very kind, gentle, loving and giving man. Happy Birthday, Fr. Bob!

 Peace……Fr. Jeff
