From the Pastor's Desk...
A week from Thursday, November 27, is Thanksgiving Day. Both parishes will have mass at 9:00 a.m. that day. This is a beautiful day for our entire country to give thanks to God. We gather with family and friends, always mindful of the blessings we have.
Thanksgiving also begins the secular season of Christmas—we will be getting into Advent. Because we know how time can get away from us, I will give you the Christmas mass schedule now. You will also be receiving a Christmas mailing with more information.
Between the 2 parishes of Ascension and Christ the King, we will have 7 masses. Christmas Eve at 3:00 pm, 4:00 pm, 5:00 pm, and 9:00 pm. The 3:00 pm and 5:00 pm will be said Christ the King, Lombard, and the 4:00 pm and 9:00 pm will be said at Ascension, Oakbrook Terrace. Christmas Day is the Sunday mass schedule of 8:00 am, 9:30 am and 11:00 am—the 8:00 am and 11:00 am at Christ the King, Lombard, and the 9:30 am at Ascension, Oakbrook Terrace. There will also be a special Advent Day of Confession at St. Peter in Itasca from 8:00-3:00, on Saturday, December 20.
Our Filipino Community will have the novena mass for Simbang Gabi at Christ the King, Lombard, at 4:00 on Sunday, December 14.
