From the Pastor's Desk - 8/24/2025

    What is the will of God in your life? This is the question that I will often ask young people when they talk about their future. They are often excited about what they would like to do as they look ahead. It is certainly an exciting time for them. They think of where they want to live, what kind of education, etc. But when I ask them “what does God want you to do?” it throws them off a bit. This is a good question for any Christian to ask in their daily prayer. What is the will of God. As our children and teens go back to school at this time of year, we may want to think about praying for them. What guidance can God give to them? What is God calling each of us to do? I often think of the 12 apostles; they were a mixed bag! If we think of those 12, we would have to come to the conclusion, that everyone has something to give. I pray that you will discern what the will of God is for you in your life.

    Our August is moving right along. The summertime for us here in the Chicago area is starting to wind down. Labor Day will soon be here—and all the schools will for sure be back in session. It has been a long, hot, humid summer. Let us enjoy these warm days and give thanks to God for all He has given us.
